Bringing Comfort During the High Holidays

Spending Rosh Hashana in the hospital can be deeply emotional. Yad Ephraim helps bring comfort, warmth, and the spirit of the Yom Tov to patients through specially prepared holiday meals and hourly shofar blowing visits. By ensuring every patient can hear the stirring sounds of the shofar and participate in this cherished mitzvah, Yad Ephraim helps create meaningful moments of inspiration and connection.

Sukkos

Bringing the Joy of Sukkos to Every Patient

During Sukkos, Yad Ephraim helps patients experience the joy and traditions of the holiday by setting up a sukkah on hospital grounds and providing arba minim throughout Yom Tov. Volunteers bring a Sefer Torah to patient rooms on Simchas Torah and lead hakafos so even bed-bound patients can share in the simcha. Beautiful Yom Tov meals and regular volunteer visits help make the holiday meaningful and uplifting for patients and their families.

Spreading the Light

During Chanukah, Yad Ephraim brings the warmth and joy of the Yom Tov directly to hospitalized patients. Patients receive special Chanukah meals, fresh sufganiyot, and menorahs, enabling them to light the Chanukah neiros and participate in this cherished mitzvah. As the glow of the menorah fills their rooms, patients can experience the inspiration and uplifting spirit of Chanukah.

Bringing the Simcha of Purim to Every Patient

Our volunteers visit and deliver mishloach manos to every patient, helping bring the warmth and simcha of Purim to those who are unable to celebrate at home. Hourly Megillah readings give patients and families the opportunity to perform the mitzvos and experience the spirit of Purim, even during a hospital stay.
