Many NYC hospitals have a special “bikur cholim room” where patients and their guests can find kosher food and a place to relax.

The Yad Ephraim room in Maimonides Hospital surpasses all of them. It is the single greatest bikur cholim room in NYC, not necessarily because of its size, but because of the sheer number of people who use it.

The Yad Ephraim room is open round the clock, and food is plentiful at all times. We provide a comfortable dining area where each week, hundreds of individuals stop to dine or chat. The refrigerator is stocked with sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and more.

There is always coffee, soup and other warm dishes. For patients or caregivers spending time in the hospital, the Yad Ephraim room is the place to catch one’s breath, to take a break from the difficulties.

If you’re staying with a patient at Maimonides, stop by our room. Have a sandwich, sip a coffee. Put your feet up. We’re happy to be your oasis amidst the chaos.
